Graphica hits the road with Airstream and
Eddie Bauer
DAYTON, Ohio – Two iconic American brands, Airstream and Eddie Bauer, recently teamed up to unveil the 2011 Eddie Bauer Airstream travel trailer – and asked Graphica to provide brand marketing support for the new venture.
By combining Eddie Bauer’s heritage as The Original Outdoor Outfitter® and Airstream’s focus on functional durability in RV manufacturing, the two brands targeted travelers and outdoor enthusiasts with the special edition trailer featuring a new rear sport hatch and stylish interior elements.
Graphica created a brochure that not only highlighted the unique product features, but aimed to evoke the spirit of adventure as retold in the classic American success stories of founding fathers, Eddie Bauer and Airstream's Wally Byam. Visuals created a balanced picture of outdoor life, with organic colors and fresh design elements, featuring photos of Airstreamers in action and at home on the road. The trailer would be positioned as expansive and relaxing as the great outdoors itself.
“Graphica had recently established a new visual brand architecture for Airstream that included a modular framework of photos, snapshots of the Airstream lifestyle and product,” said Graphica Director of Design and Innovation, Jean Silverstein. “For this piece, we tried to capitalize on that new momentum and target the more serious outdoor enthusiast segment of the Airstream audience.”
The partnership between Airstream and Eddie Bauer was supported by coordinated marketing campaigns by both brands, including its feature on the cover of Eddie Bauer's 2010 Ultimate Gift Guide and a consumer unveiling at this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah.
